  1. Can you substitute the banana For something el se?

    • To be honest banana is ideal for these kind of diets as it filled the tummy and contains most vitamins and some carbs too. Although you can substitute with melons, if you like.

  2. Can you drink infused water with this diet. I was planning on lemon strawberry and lime starwberry.

  3. Can the cottage cheese be substituted for something else?

    • Plain Greek yogurt, ricotta cheese, cheddar cheese, eggs, or ham. Tofu is a non dairy substitute with similar nutrients.

  4. Can you substitute the cottage cheese for anything else?

  6. can you substitute anything for the peanut butter? I’m allergic

    • You can substitute the same amount of almond butter, pumpkin butter, soy butter, sunflower seed butter, hummus or bean dip. Two tablespoons of plain sunflower seeds also work.

  7. Can you substitute the apple and grapefruit for something else? I am allergic.

    • For apples – try plums, peaches, grapes, zucchini, pears or dried apricots.

Do not substitute orange for grapefruit – oranges will create the opposite effect. To get the same Military Diet benefits as grapefruit, put 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it. Alternatively, you can squeeze the juice of the grapefruit and add Stevia. Other than that, there isn’t really a grapefruit substitute. It has to do with the body’s pH levels, which are either alkaline or acid. In an acidic environment, fat flourishes. So, alkaline producing foods will help improve the pH balance of the body. Grapefruit and baking soda creates more alkaline conditions, better for fat burning.

  15. Hi just started this today and I can honestly say I’m not hungry at all between meals. I can’t have grapefruit because of BP medication, but since it’s only a half it should be ok.
