Broccoli: Broccoli is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, vitamin K, B-complex vitamins, zinc, phosphorus, fibre and phyto-nutrients.
Spinach: This low calorie leafy vegetable is full of iron, folate, magnesium, calcium and plenty of antioxidants.
Chilli: Chillies contain capsaicin which boosts your metabolism. Boosted metabolism – burn fat easily.
Peppercorn: Peppercorn stimulates the breakdown of fat cells and boost your metabolism.
Garlic: Garlic keep your heart healthy and fight against the fat cells.
Olive Oil: Olive oil is one of the ‘GOOD’ fat. It increases metabolism and keep your heart healthy.
Fat Fighter Broccoli Spinach Recipe:
1 broccoli with stems and small leaves
300 gm spinach (or baby spinach)
2-3 garlic cloves
2-3 green chillies
1 teaspoon olive oil
Freshly crushed black peppercorn
Salt to taste
Water as required
How To make fat fighter recipe – broccoli spinach recipe:
Cut the broccoli in small florets. Chop the stems and broccoli leaves.
Wash and cut the stem ends. Blanch the spinach and chop it. If you are using baby spinach, you can leave as it is without chopping.
Blanch the broccoli florets with chopped stems and broccoli leaves.
Chop the chillies finely. Chop the garlic.
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the chopped garlic. Saute for some secs.
Add the chopped chillies. Stir and add broccoli florets along with chopped stems and broccoli leaves. Saute for about 2-3 mins.
Now add spinach and mix well. Saute for few mins.
Then season with freshly crushed peppercorns and salt to taste. Mix well and turn the heat off.
Serve this fat broccoli spinach recipe warm!
